| Name: | Mrs. Sidhe Aingeal | |
| Birthdate: | 1983-08-17 | |
| Bio: | The purpose of my LiveJournal is to provide a sanctuary for me to share my feelings, thoughts and days in order to better understand myself, learn to be more open about who I am, and build deep and lasting friendships. As such, this journal is Friends Only. Please comment to be added. As you may have guessed, my name is Sidhe Aingeal. I usually answers to either Sidhe or Angel. What you may not have guessed is that Sidhe is pronounced "Shee" and that Aingeal sounds like "Angel", "Awngel" or "Arngel", depending on region, dialect and source. I am a 25-year-old woman who loves corny jokes, animals and considers herself extremely spiritual. I live by the values of honesty, compassion and empathy. I have no time for those who are mean-spirited. I married the love of my life Both I have been an avid diarist since the age of 11. Although my LiveJournal is a sanctuary for me and brings me joy, my heart and soul are contained between the pages of my paper journal. The journal is not only a friend and therapist, it is also a form of art. I delight in collecting journals of all shapes and sizes, filling them with drawings, stickers, memorabilia and photos along with my musings on life. One of my greatest pleasures in life is finding a beautiful new journal to take home. As you may have guessed, I adore surrounding myself in beauty, be it the beauty of an antique piece of furniture, a soft cover and crisp page in a new journal, a painting or the simple yet astounding beauty of a tree. Additionally, I am completely enamoured of the fae and our home is filled with figurines and statues of faeries that occasionally drift into the realms of kitsch. I call them my "pretties." I also has an growing collection of statues depicting the Gods of Celtic mythology and a school of mermaids I hope to expand, for I am also enamoured of the sea and her creatures. I maintain a keen interest in comparative mythology and a strong love for Celtic mythology. My quest for knowledge and passion for learning compels me to buy many volumes on the subject. My insatiable love for books in general causes me to spend my hard earned cash on novels of the fantasy and classic genres as well as titles exploring spirituality, health, and animals. I am a bibliophile. :) I am very interested in an organic lifestyle. I try to live as natural life as possible (i.e. avoiding harsh chemicals and processed foods, composting, making and using natural beauty products etc) as it's not only better for the environment, it's also better for you. Plus I really enjoy making bath salts, moisturisers, shampoos.... I am an INFJ and identify as an empath and a Highly Sensitive Person. Although these things can make my life very interesting and occasionally difficult, I consider them a blessing and not a curse. I am also bisexual and alternates between being fairly nonchalant about my sexuality and being a gung-ho activist. I strongly believe that bisexuality is a legitimate and stable sexual orientation that deserves acknowledgment. I am very against biphobia as well as homophobia and heterophobia as I believe people should be free to love regardless of gender. I am very very against rape and sexual assault of any kind and am happy to speak out against it. Speaking of activism, I am rather passionate in my views regarding equality and politics. I believe all people - regardless of race, gender, age, disability, religion or sexuality - should have the same rights to a fulfilling life as a valued member of society. I am fascinated by the cultures of others and enjoys learning about different societies. In the recent Australian Federal Election, I voted Green but I am pleased to say I support Kevin Rudd as Prime Minister. I hate John Howard, dislike George Bush and disagrees with the war on Iraq due to insufficient evidence of weapons of mass destruction aka their stated reason for being there. My tendency toward activism and love of equality probably led me to my work in the community sector. I graduated from University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Community Education, majoring in Counselling Studies and I now work as a Counsellor for families in crisis. I would love to one day be a children's counsellor. My dream job, however, is to be a writer and I plan to have at least one book published before my death. My other main goal in life would be to become a mother and I would like to be a stay at home mum while our children are small, if finances allow. I love and adore my dog, Merlin, and have been known to gush about him at frequent intervals. Although my love and knowledge of dogs borders on obsessive, I also adore horses, cats (big and domestic), rabbits and pretty much any animal that's not a chicken or Chihuahua. I dream of one day having with my own menagerie and no home of mine would feel like home without at least one animal living in it. I strongly support animal rights and responsible pet ownership as I see animals as just as deserving of dignity and respect as their human counterparts. As you may have surmised, I take my relationships (both romantic and platonic) seriously and I try to be a caring and understanding individual. However, that often manifests as foot in mouth disease *wink*. I am constantly working to improve myself physically, spiritually and mentally in order to become a stronger, happier, healthier and more capable and lovable person.
